To celebrate Youth Art Month, we ended the month with an all school draw-a-thon! The students were looking forward to it all month and were so focused on their drawings. The 4th graders held up their drawings at the end and were super helpful with clean up too.

In art, 3rd graders started a unit titled: Animal Studies. We discussed point ot view and how it affects what you see and don't see. After picking a favorite animal, they looked up photos of their animal. They had to pick 3 different points of view (top, side, front, back) to include in their drawings. This lesson helps the students with the next lesson in the unit, creating an animal in clay. Having drawn their animal from different views helps them sculpt the animal in 3D more realistically.
